Manuscript submission guide

All articles for publication in the Ural Historical Journal must be submitted in the Russian language, the size should not exceed 40,000 characters with spaces, including footnotes, bibliographic references, tables, diagrams, illustrations, abstracts (for about 180 words), key words, and full information about the author. A brief summary of at least 600 characters in the Russian and the English languages must be enclosed with the article. Size of information messages, critical and information reviews should be up to 12,000 characters. An article must have title page containing full name of the author, the name of the article, full information about the author (academic or professional qualifications, university or other organization, academic degree, postal address, contact e-mail, telephone) and the author’s signature. The manuscript must be proof-read and dated. A manuscript submitted by a post-graduate student must be filed together with a reference signed by a research supervisor.

The submissions must be made in printed and electronic versions (WinWord format). Font size 12, font type Times New Roman. Margins: Top/bottom — 1.5 cm, left/right — 2 cm. Page numbering beginning from the first text page in the bottom right corner. Text formatting, use of tabulation, forced hyphenation, etc. are not allowed. All illustrations to the articles shall be submitted in printed form (physical size must not exceed 21(h)x14 cm) and electronic version (*.tif file format with resolution of at least 600 dpi). One 190x270 mm illustration is considered to be equal 1/6 of the author’s sheet (6.7 thousand characters).

References to the literature and footnotes are to be provided page by page. The footnotes numbering must be progressive. Bibliographic references format should be as follows: Name of the author(s). Full title of the work // (for articles the name of the publication should also be provided). Editor (for collection of papers). City, publishing house, year of publication. Volume, number, issue. Pages. DOI.

The editorial board reserves the right to edit the articles and reject the ones for which negative reviews have been received. Only materials which have not been previously published are accepted for publication.

No fees shall be charged for publication.
