Summary | The article presents a study of the problems of production of gun powder and explosives development in the Soviet Union in the prewar years and during the years of military confrontation with the fascist Germany. The author analyzed the state policy of the Soviet leadership the purpose of which was enhanced production of ammunition in addition to the development and construction of new military hardware in order to support its striking power. The article demonstrates the importance of the help provided by the allies in the anti-Hitler coalition in the supply of explosives to the Soviet armed forces during the Great Patriotic War. A conclusion is made that the successes of domestic industry in the production of gun powder and explosives on the eve of the war and during the active military actions period, as well as the supplies of the allies helped to meet the Red Army's requirements in ammunition, which played a tremendous role in achieving the victory of the USSR over the fascist Germany. | ||
