Summary | Analysis of the forms of geographic information transfer among the Nenets was a basis for the study of traditional use of spatial references systems. The study identified the typical for the Nenets key landmarks, means of transfer and remembering of geographic information and some cultural specifics of the perception of space. It was established that the transfer of geographic information was mostly verbal with the minimum use of visual means. Therefore the necessary prerequisite for the adequate perception of information was a good awareness of space and the topographic memory. | ||
