Summary | The article deals with the system of foreign trade relations administration in the Russian empire during the industrial revolution period. Expansion of trade and economic relations, infl ow of foreign investment to the Russian economy facilitated mobilization of the national capital and growth of the Russian domestic businesses. The government measures aimed at protection of domestic industry from competition together with the tax, tariffs and customs regulation played an important role in the process. Pragmatic government policy had, without prejudice to the foreign partners’ interests, created the necessary prerequisites for close cooperation with the leading European economies. | ||
