Summary | The article compares the construction of the Moscow Metro in the Stalinist Soviet Union and the autobahn in the national-socialist Germany during the first half of the 1930s. Both projects stood for mobility, dynamics, and the progress of the whole country into a higher and better stage of development. Both projects had symbolic importance and were exploited by the regimes for propagandistic purposes. In doing so, the regimes ascribed to the infrastructural buildings and to themselves similar characteristics. | ||
