Summary	The rapid development of ethnic processes in Russia and in the world on the whole pose a need for the researchers to create new and more effective means of recording and presentation of the cultures. A new motion vector is determined by the search of ethnic and regional identities and cultural creativity. It aims to activate and promote ethno cultural resources, to integrate traditional and modern cultures elements. Ethnography (Ugric studies in particular) should develop not only theoretical and methodological concepts, but to participate actively in the ongoing contemporary processes by offering relevant programs and projects aimed at the preservation of ethnic consciousness and originality of the peoples in Russia.
