| Summary | The creation of an objective biographical narrative requires considerable efforts to find and criticize documentary sources. V. Itin, M. Kravkov, I. Novokshonov, who played a prominent role in the literary process of the Siberian region, were repressed, which undermined the source base and still does not allow writing their full-fledged historical biographies. The fates of these writers have much in common — they were opponents of the Bolsheviks, found themselves in contradictory relations with the White movement, and then they were forced to serve the communist state, which demanded complete submission. The adaptation of these people to existence under the Bolshevik rule was complicated by both criminal and political persecution, but also gave birth to layers of documents in both party-state and chekist archival repositories. Some of the sources discovered are so expressive that they force a complete revision of long-established reputations, uncovering fake heroes with the weight of criminal offenses (Novokshonov). On the other hand, M. Kravkov and V. Itin’s political activity was so active and diverse that it generated a large number of documents unknown to researchers. Despite their active desire to adapt to the Soviet reality, these writers did not survive the repressions of the state security agencies. At the same time, the investigative files on these persons offer extremely important materials, which, with additional study of party-state archives, allow us to seriously clarify, or even revise the reputations of these literary and historical characters. | ||
