Summary	Based on the literary critique, aesthetic manifestos, debates on the literary canon in the Russian Silver Age literature the author attempts a reconstruction of the historico-political aspect of the literary discussions, their implicit correlation with the subject of the Empire as an historical form of high culture legitimation.
