| Summary | Modern Russian historiography explores the war’s economic history in line with the modernization paradigm, the mobilization system concept, studying transformations of economic institutions, economic strategies and behavioral practices of the population. Scholars strive to correct assessments established in Soviet and post-Soviet historiography: about the huge successes of the Soviet economy during the war; about the immense hardships of the population and the great dependence of the economy on Lend-Lease supplies; about the collapse of the Soviet military economy, etc. The article analyzes historiographic sources published in the 2010s and devoted to studying the problems of the development of the Ural economy during the Great Patriotic War in three directions. The first one provides researchers with an opportunity to rethink assessments, content and consequences of economic phenomena and processes in a plane of the economic strategy of the Soviet state in war conditions, to place them in the context of geoeconomic and geopolitical transformations at national and regional levels, and identify the degree of effectiveness and efficiency of the mobilization system. Within the second direction the author analyzes researches devoted to the topics and subjects traditional for the Ural historiography: functioning of the military branches and enterprises, history of the region’s agriculture, evacuation of industrial enterprises, forced labor, and others. The third direction in modern Ural historiography is characterized by addressing economic strategies, practices and patterns of behavior of the Urals’ population during the war, economic aspects of everyday life history. | ||
