Summary | The article presents the literary and critical phenomenology of the life and work of Sergei Pavlovich Zubarev (1954–1987), a Donetsk poet, novelist, essayist, and Kulturträger. It investigates the significant patterns of his biography: professional contacts in Moscow and Leningrad (D. Ya. Dar, K. K. Kuzminsky, G. N. Trifonov, etc.); literary and artistic environment in Donetsk (A. Parshchikov, G. Brainin, N. Khatkina, L. Konstantinova, Yu. Belyansky, A. Glumakov, S. Shatalov, etc.); the content and specifics of S. Zubarev’s cultural heritage; the causes and circumstances of his early death. The significant moments of his creative realization, the peculiarities of his thinking and artistic manner are characterized. The main works of S. Zubarev are reviewed and analyzed (the essay “Moral Evolution”, the novel “Second Wind”, some poems). An attempt is made to show the poet’s life and work as a complex, contradictory, but integral phenomenon representing Donetsk literature of the 1970–1980s in its relations with the Leningrad underground. S. Zubarev’s prose is interpreted as a transitional phenomenon between modernist and postmodern principles of text generation. S. Zubarev’s poetry is read as focused on the work of B. Pasternak, O. Mandelstam, M. Tsvetaeva, but influenced by contemporaries (V. Krivulin, A.Parshchikov, N. Khatkina), and in later poems acquiring the features of Pushkin’s poetics. The psychological and psychophysical characteristics of the poet’s personality are taken into account. The article uses little-known and archival materials. | ||
